What’s in the Smartpilot
Verado box
Raymarine Smartpilot for Verado
outboard engines is a complete
autopilot system in a box consisting of:
course computer, control head, fl uxgate
compass, hydraulic drive, hydraulic
hoses, adaptor and all fi xtures.
Designed to integrate with the innovative Volvo
Penta IPS propulsion system, the Raymarine
SmartPilot IPS represents the convergence of
autopilot and propulsion technology. Employing
Raymarine’s proven AST (Advanced Steering
Technology), the SmartPilot IPS delivers
razor sharp course keeping and smooth
course turns, in conjunction with the Volvo
IPS ‘steer by wire’ propulsion system. CAN
Bus communication protocols, provides the
SmartPilot IPS with single cable interface to
Volvo IPS drives. Raymarine’s proven SeaTalk
technology provides boat owners with their
choice of multiple SmartPilot control heads as
well as seamless integration with Raymarine’s
multifunction displays and instrument systems.

Smartpilot for Verado Outboard
Engines
This Smartpilot is a complete autopilot system
designed specifi cally for boats equipped with
single or twin Verado outboard engines.
• Complete autopilot system in one box
– includes all hoses and hydraulic fi ttings.
• SmartPilot AST (Advanced Steering
Technology) using a built-in rate gyro sensor.
• AutoLearn software automatically learns
the handling characteristics of your boat for
optimal steering control.
• Wireless ready/optional wireless autopilot
controls available.
• Seamless integration with Raymarine multi-
function displays and instruments.
• Rate Gyro stabilised heading output for
MARPA and radar/chartplotter overlay on
Raymarine multi-function displays.
• Professional installation recommended.
• No rudder reference required.
NOTE: The Smartpilot system for Verado outboard engines is
not suitable for use with parallel cylinder applications. Consult
your Raymarine dealer, or goto www.raymarine.com for
complete compatibility information.
